Description
OverviewCanby, OR | Willamette Valley CC offers an 18-hole championship golf course (where members may enjoy superb playing conditions year-round), lessons from our PGA professional staff, extensive practice facilities, a performance center, club fitting, a full-service golf shop, swimming pool, fitness facility, and a large clubhouse.
Many social and dining events are centered around the beautifully decorated clubhouse which includes multiple dining outlets (indoor and outdoor seating), banquet rooms, men's and ladies' locker rooms as well as various meeting rooms for private dining and business meetings. Most dining areas are designed to provide a view of the golf course. Our dining areas are a great gathering place for members to enjoy a breakfast, lunch, happy hour, or dinner.
A recent addition and integral part of WVCC is the New Era Rec Center (fitness complex) which opened in the summer of 2019. The New Era Rec Center provides members with state-of-the-art fitness equipment, free weights, aerobic classes, personal training, locker rooms, hot tub, a resort-style swimming pool area, food service and meeting areas.
At Willamette Valley CC, we strive to exceed expectations by providing our members and guests with a wide range of amenities and excellent service to promote lasting relationships. Leagues, clubs, social events, classes, and amenities for all ages and stages of life are available.
With 156 acres of secluded farmland to work with, Shirley Stone designed the original layout of this course which has become a 7,200 yard masterpiece. Our course provides five different sets of tees allowing all levels of golfers an opportunity to challenge themselves. Our fantastic layout includes majestic tree lined fairways, manicured putting surfaces, and a variety of holes that offers players with a new challenge for every round. The course is easy to walk and allows for a wonderful pace of play for all player types.
Experience Required
Minimum 5 years of golf industry experience required.
Minimum 2 years golf management required.
College Degree Preferred.
PGA Membership Preferred. Level 2 required.

Essential Responsibilities
Administrative
- Supervise an innovative tournament program, group outings, and leagues that service all customer segments
- Supervise the annual tournament schedule & update tee sheet and online calendar accordingly.
- Develop and maintain database of committee members, outside groups and contacts
- Create and implement marketing and promotional strategies
- Develop, update and maintain "Event Book" detailing, tasks, time lines, responsibilities, contacts and historical record
Committee
- Act as point person on all tournament related issues including; marketing, contracts, event administration and resource management
- Attend committee planning meetings
- Responsible for starting and scoring administration
- Responsible for signage on site and assists in set up of same
- Supervises day-to-day operations of events
- Responsible for coordinating "team" meetings to prepare for events and activities related to each event
Facility
- Works with Golf Course Superintendent and Head Professional to ensure that the golf course is in tournament condition
- Coordinate course set up with Superintendent including tee markers hole locations, rough height, green speed, special contests etc.
- Coordinate food and beverage and set up requests with Food & Beverage Manager
- Coordinate tee gifts, prizes and certificates with Assistant Merchandise Manager
Golf Operations Management
- Assist the Head Professional oversee the reservation system, starting, monitoring, and pace of play
- Assist the Head Professional oversee golf car fleet while ensuring proper maintenance and recordkeeping
- Assist the Head Professional oversee the operations of a well-managed practice facility
- Provide professional club repair services
- Ensure the proper storage, safety, and cleaning of golf equipment
- Play golf with a variety of members and/or guests as time permits
- Administer the Rules of Golf and educate staff. Promote and provide Rules of Golf clinics to the membership
Golf Administration
- Attend staff meetings as scheduled by management and schedule staff meetings with golf operations personnel
- Maintain safety standards and safety equipment within OSHA requirements
- Assist in the publications of newsletters, informational, and promotional materials
- Assist the Head Professional oversee the administration of the golf handicap program
- Work closely with and provide guidance and consultation with all golf committees
- Attend applicable committee meetings and board, management, and staff meetings when requested
- Adhere to, enforce, and implement policies and procedures of the facility
- Setup regular written communication with supervisor to include facility, programming, staff and customer updates
Business and Financial
- Assist the Head Professional with the financial and operational performance of the golf shop operations and golf services
- Ensure all financial goals and objectives are being achieved
- Assist the Head Professional to ensure systems controls are in place to safeguard assets, revenues, and resources
- In keeping with facility goals, utilize yield management techniques to maximize course usage
Other Facility/Departmental Responsibilities
- Work closely with all department heads to achieve the goals and objectives of the facility
- Maintain a close working relationship with the Golf Course Superintendent and provide advice on course playability and tournament set up
- Assist the Membership Sales Director in the promotion of new member leads and provide a supporting role in assisting with prospective members and orientation of new members
- Coordinate plans with the Food and Beverage Manager for food and beverage needs for all golf functions
Benefits
Income & Benefits
Based on the abilities and "member engagement" skills of the candidate, the total income range should range from $55,000-$60,000. The income will be made up of these components including:
- Base salary of $55,000-60,000 annually: based on experience and qualifications
- Lesson and Teaching Income of $2k-$10k: based on "member engagement" skills, work with junior programming, clinics; year-round teaching studio available to professional staff for teaching

- PTO is accrued (176 hours annually); eligible for use after 180 days of employment

- Annual Holiday Bonus
Preferred start date of July 1st, 2026 (but employer will be flexible based on the exit/arrival timing needed for successful candidate)
