Ready to Work (RTW) is an ongoing job development program created to assist probation clients in developing the tools necessary to be successful in finding and maintaining employment. RTW does not provide job placement but will provide resources needed to assist clients in securing employment. The Career Bound Program connects youth with paid work experience internships at companies throughout Yamhill County. The program was created in 2019 and expanded in 2023 through grant funding to support students from priority populations interested in gaining essential workplace skills and exploring potential career paths throughout Yamhill County. Chemeketa Community College
Part of a student’s learning experience can be actual work experience. Students, as well as companies, have told us how much they benefit from the Cooperative Work Experience (CWE) program. Organizations especially like the concept of having extra technical help, especially for those projects they never have time to complete. Level Up Internship Program (Unidos Bridging Community)
Unidos Bridging Community offers Paid Work Experience and Essential Skills Training (Spring 2024) through grant-funded wage subsidies for employers, following the Career Bound model (MEDP). Tailored to Latinx culture, Level Up aims to boost Latinx youth engagement in workforce development programs. It fosters intergenerational wealth-building and equitable economic development in Yamhill County. The program, geared towards ages 14-24, provides essential employability skills training, coaching, and paid internships. Participants undergo five training sessions covering communication, problem-solving, critical thinking, professionalism, teamwork, networking, and interviewing. Additionally, local employers hosting interns receive wage subsidies, while participants receive wraparound support funds to eliminate participation barriers.

McMinnville School District
McMinnville School District #40 is Yamhill County’s largest school district. It serves residents in the City of McMinnville, the City of Lafayette, and surrounding unincorporated areas of Yamhill County. The district serves approximately 6,800 children in six elementary schools, two middle schools, and one high school. MSD educates children by developing and maintaining approved education programs and courses of study, including academic and vocational programs, bilingual programs, and programs for children with special needs. Career Summit (Uplift Leadership)
The Career Summit is a four-day workshop for young people who are new to the workforce and want to build job readiness skills (University of Oregon, July 25-28, 2024). This event centers on teens and recent graduates (ages 16 to 26) who want to learn, grow and explore their professional potential. At this event, we explore careers-industries and build job preparedness skills. This includes finding your professional purpose, getting hired, building a fulfilling career and pursuing education-advancement opportunities.

Chemeketa Commercial Driver License (CDL) Program
Over the next ten years, the employment field for truck drivers is expected to grow by at least 6 percent. Plus, there is currently a shortage of truck drivers. A current shortage of 50,000 truck drivers nationwide is expected to grow to 174,000 drivers by 2026. In the Mid-Valley, there are almost 400 openings annually for truck drivers stemming from job growth and replacing retired drivers. Chemeketa's truck driving certificate program will provide the knowledge and skills needed to earn your Commercial Driver License (CDL) in four weeks.

Occupational Skills Training (OST) offers an invaluable opportunity for individuals seeking to enter or re-enter the workforce successfully. Yoop! (Chehelem Youth & Family Services)
YOOP! offers diverse services to eligible participants aged 16-24 living in Yamhill County. The program focuses on education and career readiness, aiding high school dropouts in completing graduation requirements or earning a GED. Support extends to pre-employment training, job shadows, and paid internships, with participants graduating to follow-up services lasting 12 months after achieving initial goals.

YVCareers is a valuable resource for job seekers and employers in the Yamhill Valley region of Oregon. It is a platform that was established as part of the Workforce Integrated Network (WIN), an initiative launched by the McMinnville Economic Development Partnership (MEDP) in 2022.
