Responsibilities
This role will support members of our clinically integrated network (LHP) in Clark County as well as support hospital services and growth initiatives at Legacy Salmon Creek Hospital.
The Provider Outreach and Engagement Adviser provides subject matter expertise, consultation and education to Legacy Health and Legacy Health Partners (LHP) provider members by establishing and maintaining a strong relationship with the physician and practice. This role represents both the health system and clinically integrated network, working to support the population health, payor strategy, quality, value and growth strategies of both Legacy and LHP. Regularly visits physician offices to advise and educate on a wide variety of topics (examples include population health management strategies and programs, hospital programs and service lines, clinical integration, registry and EMR utilization, incentive program(s), provider web site, care management, and office efficiencies and access strategies).
The Provider Outreach and Engagement Adviser is a highly strategic role within Legacy, designed to provide value to the system and to the physician and office through expertise, consultation, and change management. The Adviser is the relationship manager for the practice and exists to help simplify the physician's experience with Legacy and LHP, while working to identify and address improvement opportunities. The Adviser will be responsible for executing plans and delivering key messages to physicians and office staff. This position is field-based with the majority of time spend in physician offices. This role will also interface regularly with physicians, administrator and staff at all levels of the organization.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in healthcare, business or a related field.
Master's degree preferred.
Experience
Four years' experience in performance improvement, operations, finance, medical sales (preferably directly to physicians) and/or marketing, of which two years must be in a relevant physician/ hospital/ managed care environment.
Two years' experience working collegially with physicians.
Familiarity with medical terminology and working knowledge of the healthcare market and business practices.
Self-motivated and able to work independently using good judgment.
Significant knowledge of hospital and physician (multi-specialty group, IPA or PHO) operations and services impacted by managed care and health care reform.
Demonstrated experience in preparing and delivering written and oral reports.
Strong skills for using various information systems tools to identify performance improvement opportunities, communicate these opportunities to physicians and track improvements.
Ability to handle difficult situations, problem solve and maintain professionalism.
