Foster Garvey PC is looking for a full-time Conflicts Counsel to be an integral member of the firm’s New Business Intake Team. The position reports to the firm’s General Counsel and supports the firm’s attorneys in wide-ranging practice areas across multiple jurisdictions.
This full-time exempt position will be based either in the firm’s downtown Seattle or downtown Portland office. This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement after 90 days of working in the office full-time and will require at least three days in the office per week.
The successful candidate will have strong analytical, writing, and interpersonal skills, and have a strong interest in legal ethics and risk management. The ability to learn workflow software and other technology is imperative.
Responsibilities:
Identify potential conflicts of interest for new clients and new matters using specialized software
Prepare draft conflict waiver disclosures and assist in drafting engagement letters to manage risk
Interact extensively with practicing attorneys regarding conflict resolution and risk management
Conduct factual and occasional legal research
Work closely with other members of the New Business Intake Team and other staff across all Foster Garvey offices
Other duties and projects as assigned under the supervision of the firm’s General Counsel

Ability to prioritize among competing demands and to work from a software queue
Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook
Ability to learn intake workflow software and document management software
Education & Experience:
JD degree from an accredited law school
A minimum of two years of legal practice experience or experience in a law firm new business intake department

Salary Range:
The pay range for this position is $92,500-$125,000 annually; however, actual pay may vary depending on the candidate's education, training, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
