The Meadows Head Golf Professional is responsible for providing and maintaining an exceptional Sunriver Resort experience for all members and resort guests. He/She/They will play an integral role in membership development and retention, as well as ensuring the financial profitability of the Meadows Golf Course.
The Head Golf Professional will always conduct themselves in manner which supports the Core Values of Sunriver Resort: Trust, Open & Honest Communication, and Commitment.
He/She/They shall strive to provide exceptional service to both internal and external guests at all times. S/he will be responsible for exemplifying the Sunriver Resort Culture as well as promoting Sunriver Resort as both the Destination and Employer of Choice!
Experience Required
High school education or equivalent required
Four year degree in Business Administration /Marketing & Professional Golf Management preferred
PGA Class A member in good standing required
Strong knowledge of the game of golf required
Ability to play golf at a reasonable level required
Prior high-end private golf club experience preferred
At least two years management experience preferred
Must have a valid drivers license and meet company driving standards
Essential Responsibilities
Creates and maintains an exceptional golf and social experience for Sunriver Golf Club Members and Resort Guests
Manage all functions of the Meadows Golf Shop and operations
Operates and maintains a reputable pro shop and practice range
In partnership with the VP of Operations, provides leadership for all golf tournaments and events, while working closely with event coordinators and management team
Coordinate and execute all Member events planned by Club Management
Responsible for increasing Member retention by fostering relationships between Members, increasing Member participation and increasing revenues per Member
Accurately answer any Member questions regarding their Membership Account
Pay all invoices in a timely and accurate manner
Monitor time punches in UKG, ensuring accurate payroll for Meadows Golf staff
Supervises the proper charging of green fees and season privilege fees
Provides competent golf instructions for all groups and levels of players
Manages Rental program, ensuing proper maintenance of equipment
Supervises the operation of the handicap system
Effectively coordinates golf tournaments
Supervises the performance, attendance, attitudes, appearance and conduct of golf maintenance staff
Maintains a professional image for self and team in keeping with the high standards of a first class resort
Maintains a strong morale and spirit throughout team Finish
Responsible for reinforcement of department and company standards through training
Completes all proper new hire and termination paperwork
Recommends discipline and/or termination when appropriate
Works with HR to recruit and hire staff
Manages timely completion of performance reviews
Prepares operating and capital budgets for the Meadows golf course and ensures operation within those guidelines
Utilizes labor management tools to schedule and control labor costs
Maintains safe and pleasant work environment
Prepares and conducts staff meetings as required
Responsible for equipment purchase, storage, inventory and maintenance
Maintains strong knowledge of hospitality trends, focusing on golf
Complies with all Sunriver Resort's policies, procedures and safety regulations
Maintains a strong knowledge of emergency procedures
Instills a calm, organized approach in all stressful situations
Attends appropriate resort, division and department meetings
Responsible for the achievement of department goals and objectives
Provides general resort information for guests
Offers warm and sincere welcome/farewell for all guests including use of guest name when possible & good eye contact with each guest
Interacts with resort staff in a professional manner, assisting other departments when necessary
Always maintains a professional demeanor and attitude
Communicates all pertinent information to the Meadows teams
Maintains a professional appearance. Follows all Sunriver Resort dress code standards
Remains alert, courteous and helpful to the guests and colleagues at all times
