CSI Companies is hiring Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) professionals for multiple contract opportunities including Inpatient, Inpatient Team Lead, and Outpatient.
Schedule: 40 hours/week (part-time hours are available for opportunity #1) Work Type: Remote (varies by opportunity; some require a brief onsite visit) Position Type: Long-term Contracts (length varies by opportunity; extensions possible) Compensation: Hourly W-2,Competitive market rates (based on experience, education, and credentials)
Opportunity 1: Inpatient CDI Specialist (Remote)
What you’ll do
Perform concurrent and/or retrospective inpatient CDI reviews in an acute-care setting
Create compliant, non-leading provider queries aligned to industry standards
Collaborate with coding and provider teams to support accurate diagnosis/procedure capture
Meet established productivity and quality benchmarks
What we’re looking for
Active RN license with strong inpatient clinical experience (ED/ICU preferred)
2+ years of inpatient CDI experience in an acute-care environment is preferred
Those with extensive ED/ICU experience and a willingness to learn CDI will be considered
CDIP or CCDS
Strong knowledge of MS-DRG methodology and ICD-10-CM/PCS
Ability to work effectively in a secure home environment
Opportunity 2: Inpatient CDI Team Lead (Remote with less than one week per year onsite)
What you’ll do
Lead day-to-day inpatient CDI workflow execution and support metric analysis/reporting
Perform inpatient chart reviews and identify provider education opportunities
Audit CDI work, mentor CDI Specialists, and support quality/productivity expectations
Partner with program stakeholders to develop/provide CDI education
What we’re looking for
Active RN license with meaningful acute-care inpatient clinical experience (ED/ICU preferred)
CDI or RN leadership/mentoring and/or education experience
CDIP, CCDS, CCS
Strong communication and coordination skills in a remote model
Opportunity 3: Outpatient/Practice CDI Specialist (Brief onsite orientation then remote)
What you’ll do
Review outpatient/practice documentation and identify opportunities to improve accuracy and clinical specificity
Apply strong clinical judgment to support accurate condition capture (not relying solely on the query process)
Collaborate with operational and clinical partners to improve documentation quality and consistency
Complete any pre-interview questionnaire/assessment steps required for selection
What we’re looking for
Epic experience
CDIP or CCDS-O certification
Active clinical license with clinical experience (RN, MD, DO)
Ability to make independent clinical determinations and clearly articulate rationale
Will require onsite orientation before becoming fully remote
CRC (or similar) certification
Prior outpatient CDI experience (strongly preferred in some programs; extensive inpatient CDI may be considered)
