The Biomed Technician performs preventive maintenance, safety testing, incoming inspections, installation, troubleshooting, repair, calibration and documentation to certain patient care equipment in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate’s Degree in Biomed Equipment Technology or equivalent training and experience required
4-5 years of Biomed Equipment Technology experience
Completion of equipment manufacturer’s certification course within three months of hire
Excellent grammar, verbal communication, and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization
Demonstrated ability to take initiative, manage processes and use creative methods to implement and improve procedures and programs
Ability to successfully manage and adapt to varying business climates expeditiously
Proficient in MS Office Suite
Must be able to travel by personal or company vehicle, hold a valid driver’s license, have an automobile in good repair, and have proof of auto insurance
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Inspects and installs clinical and related technical equipment
Services various equipment and apparatus, such as patient monitors, ventilators and infusion pumps
Repairs, calibrates, and maintains equipment, using hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, and knowledge of manufacturers' manuals, troubleshooting techniques, and preventive maintenance schedules
Generates and presents regular reports and reviews of expenditures and purchases
Safety-tests clinical equipment and LFN’s structural environment to ensure patient and staff safety from electrical or mechanical hazards
Ascertains that equipment functions properly and safely
Demonstrates and explains correct operation of equipment to clinical personnel
Generates and presents regular reports and reviews of expenditures and purchases
Develop and implement cost reduction initiatives
