OverviewRoseburg, OR | Roseburg Country Club was founded in 1922 and is a community staple in the heart of Central Douglas County. Seated in the heart of wine country, Roseburg County Club is a beautiful, picturesque 18-hole course. We are currently looking for a General Manager to add to our staff. This is a rare opportunity to lead a distinguished Country Club, where tradition meets innovation, and where your leadership will define what comes next.
Experience Required
- A bachelor's degree in business administration, management, hospitality management, hotel and restaurant management, or a related field is preferred; extensive relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal education. Advanced degrees or professional certifications are a plus.
- Minimum of three to five years of senior management experience in a private club environment, with significant experience in the hospitality industry, including golf course, resort, hotel, restaurant, retail, or sports management.
- Demonstrated success in membership growth, retention, and revenue development.
- Strong financial and business acumen, including knowledge of accounting and financial management principles such as the Uniform System of Accounts, financial analysis, budgeting, cash flow forecasting, audits, capital project financing, compensation and benefits administration, internal controls, and long-range financial planning.
- Proven people leadership skills, including employee relations, organizational development, labor relations, performance management, and the ability to foster a healthy work-life balance while maintaining high performance standards.
- Working knowledge of facilities and building management, including preventive maintenance, insurance and risk management, capital renovations and remodeling, contractor oversight, energy and water resource management, housekeeping, security, and laundry operations.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with the Board of Directors, members, staff, community partners, and external stakeholders.
- Strong negotiation and presentation skills, with the ability to represent the Club professionally and persuasively in a variety of settings.
- Demonstrated leadership style that balances strategic vision with hands-on operational management.
Essential Responsibilities
The General Manager holds executive responsibility for the oversight and strategic alignment of all Roseburg Country Club amenities and operations, including the 18-hole championship golf course, golf programs and professional shop; food and beverage operations; meeting and event spaces; and family-oriented recreational amenities, including the Club's swimming pool, along with all supporting facilities and services. In this role, the General Manager provides strategic leadership across all departments by establishing operational standards, directing departmental leadership, safeguarding Club assets, ensuring regulatory compliance, and guiding short- and long-term planning, budget development, capital improvements, and performance outcomes.
Through close collaboration with department managers and the Board of Directors, the General Manager ensures cohesive operations that deliver exceptional member experience while supporting financial sustainability, growth, and the Club's long-term success.
