Description
Foster Garvey PC is looking for a full-time Conflicts Counsel to be an integral member of the firm’s New Business Intake Team. The position reports to the firm’s General Counsel and supports the firm’s attorneys in wide-ranging practice areas across multiple jurisdictions.
This full-time exempt position will be based either in the firm’s downtown Seattle or downtown Portland office. This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement after 90 days of working in the office full-time and will require at least three days in the office per week.
The successful candidate will have strong analytical, writing, and interpersonal skills, and have a strong interest in legal ethics and risk management. The ability to learn workflow software and other technology is imperative.
Responsibilities:
- Identify potential conflicts of interest for new clients and new matters using specialized software
- Prepare draft conflict waiver disclosures and assist in drafting engagement letters to manage risk
- Interact extensively with practicing attorneys regarding conflict resolution and risk management
- Conduct factual and occasional legal research
- Work closely with other members of the New Business Intake Team and other staff across all Foster Garvey offices
- Other duties and projects as assigned under the supervision of the firm’s General Counsel
Skills:
- Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills
- Demonstrated ability to write clearly, precisely, and succinctly
- Excellent interpersonal skills, appreciation for teamwork, and a customer service mindset
- Ability to prioritize among competing demands and to work from a software queue
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to learn intake workflow software and document management software
Education & Experience:
- JD degree from an accredited law school
- A minimum of two years of legal practice experience or experience in a law firm new business intake department

Salary Range:
The pay range for this position is $92,500-$125,000 annually; however, actual pay may vary depending on the candidate's education, training, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
