- Architect / Project Manager
Description
The Architect / Project Manager position is an opportunity for an experienced applicant who brings a full and well-rounded skill set to their work. Studio Petretti Architecture seeks a project management focused, licensed Architect with 10+ years of experience. The candidate should come with strong technical knowledge, leadership abilities, and excellent communication skills. Primary responsibility will be the facilitation of planning, design and execution of architectural projects from proposal through construction. The candidate will be expected to participate in a highly collaborative process through all phases, with the ideal candidate excelling in time management and relationship building.

Job Responsibilities
- Functions as a Project Architect on small to medium scale projects and as a Project Manager on large projects. Includes acting as primary contact for key projects.
- Role involves studio-wide oversight of staffing forecast, supported with input by other team members.
- Fee proposal creation, including the ability to generate architectural scope descriptions and coordinate consultant scopes.
- Team with Firm Accountant on fee management and invoice review / approval.
- Working beside Studio Manager and Technical Coordinator on Agreements and Additional Service Requests (ASR).
- Facilitate regular Project meetings, including generating timely minutes, and progress reports.
- Lead project programming efforts: engaging with building users and owners, tracking program alongside the project design, as well as tracking Owner standards.
- Lead teams in creating client presentations to achieve high quality graphics and clear presentation narratives. The Studio regularly presents at public workshops, user group sessions, and culturally rooted gatherings.
- Lead projects with care for design quality, technical resolution, and aligned with studio documentation standards.
- Collaborate with owners to develop community communication and engagement strategies, and interface with community engagement specialists.
- Generate and maintain work plans and schedules throughout project life.
- Mentor studio staff in skills development.
- Contribute to company initiatives and learning opportunities.
- Reports regularly to Studio leaders, collaborating toward project success.

- Licensed Architect, registered in the State of Oregon.
- People-person who excels at “reading the room”.
- Good writer and clear communicator.
- Comfortable presenting project information and taking leadership of processes.
- Able to navigate multiple demands, prioritizing appropriately, and working autonomously.
- Ownership mindset: organized, reliable, and available.
- Experience with negotiating scope and fee for projects.
- Experience with building programming.
- Solid understanding of building permitting processes and land use reviews.
- Experience with CMGC project delivery. Exposure to Design-Build, IPD and Design-Bid-Build is a plus but not required.
